Initial and Recurrent Training

Initial
Initial Airframe Training

HeliSafe's Initial Airframe Training provides a pilot with an introduction to a new helicopter airframe, covering everything needed to fly with confidence. This training suits new aircraft owners and those transitioning from different types.

Recurrent Training

Recurrent Training is often underated but essential part of a pilot's continuing flight training. Recurrent training allows a pilot to perform at the highest level by maintaining a high level of proficiency in normal and emergency flight skills. In addition to this it is important to stay up-to-date with latest changes to procedures, FAA regulations and the pilot's operating handbook. With Robinson helicopters an important part of this is the Special Federal Aviation Regulations SFAR 73 special training.

Ground Training
Initial and Recurrent flight training are accompanied by a comprehensive ground course, covering the Pilot's Operating Handbook (POH), aircraft systems, preflight procedures, limitations and emergency procedures. Interactive presentations and printed training materials combined with our experienced instructors insights make for an insightful and exciting learning process.

High Altitude and Mountain Training

Flying in a mountainous environment is a challenging but rewarding experience, but requires a great deal of consideration and awareness.

When operating at altitude or in mountainous terrain, power management becomes key. This flight environment creates high power demand in a time where power is often at a premium.

Our training will prepare a pilot by going beyond basic off-airport landing training. The student will learn about power management techniques, performance calculations in-flight and the principles of mountain flight.

Power management training is also invaluable to those pilots who operate in a high density altitude environment, such as hot desert regions.

Turbine Transition Training

Robinson R66 Turbine

With the Robinson R66 becoming the World's top-selling civil turbine helicopter in 2015, many pilots are making the transition from piston to turbine.

HeliSafe has put together a comprehensive turbine transition course, providing insightful and progressive training for transitioning pilots.

The course includes both flight and ground training in the fundamentals of turbine operation, preflight procedures, limitations and emergency procedures.

Other Manufacturers

HeliSafe can provide turbine transitions in many popular airframe types on request, including models from Airbus Helicopters, Bell Helicopter and MD Helicopters.
